Title: Teaching-learning activities from thermal physics at different school levels Author: Tomáš Kopřiva Department: Department of Physics Education Supervisor: RNDr. Věra Koudelková, Ph.D., Department of Physics Education Abstract: This bachelor thesis focuses on demonstrating how the pupils' understanding of concepts from thermal physics develops over their studies at primary schools and secondary schools at three levels. Laboratory work materials for pupils are also available for each concept and experiments are demonstrated on videos. Keywords: thermal physics, experiments, Framework Educational Programmes
Preparation of new didactic materials to support science education at the preschool and primary level
Andrlová, Dominika ; Teplá, Milada (advisor) ; Hybelbauerová, Simona (referee)
The diploma thesis is focused on the development of natural science literacy of pre-school age children and pupils of younger school age. The aim of this thesis is didactic processing of materials which will enable teachers/lecturers/parents to develop natural science literacy of children, without themselves having to have education in chemistry for correct understanding of the experiment, and thanks to which, at the same time, they could pass on the correct information to children in such way that prevents from the occurrence of natural science misconceptions to a maximum possible extent. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to child ontogenesis in pre-school and early school age, which is subsequently reflected in the creation of materials for development of natural science literacy of this target age category of children. The theoretical work includes also the characterisation of the term natural science literacy as a possible tool for increasing interest in the study of natural sciences. It states the expected positives, but also possible negatives, especially in the form of resulting misconceptions which can be associated to the introduction of natural science education for younger children. In the subsequent part, an analysis of syllabus of natural science-focused subjects at...

TITLE: Students' Attitudes Towards Chemistry According to the Secondary School They Attend AUTHOR: PhDr. Martin Rusek DEPARTMENT: Katedra chemie a didaktiky chemie SUPERVISOR: prof. RNDr. Pavel Beneš, CSc. ABSTRACT: The research presented in this thesis completes the data with the information about so far neglected vocational schools students' attitudes towards chemistry. After the curricular reform, impact put on general education, including chemistry, brings considerable changes in this area. The questionnaire used was focused on three spheres: students' attitudes towards chemistry, didactical facilities used in chemistry education and students' attitudes towards particular chemical topics. The questionnaire was submitted to students (N = 959) at the beginning of the school year after they entered secondary school. That way the results reflect students' attitudes constructed at primary schools. The results show negative students' attitudes. They are mostly affected by the difficulty of the subject and also by students' low interest in the topics. It was also proved that topics close to students' lives play a vital role. Based on the results of the research, proposals may be word in order to solve the situation: emphasizing activating methods such as: experimental work and active observation, also...

Mgr. Danuše Součková: Analytical chemistry in secondary grammar school. Summary of Ph.D.Thesis Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Science, Department of Teaching and Didactics of Chemistry At the end of my thesis about the importace of chemical experiments in chemical education and especially about the importace of analytic chemistry in secondary grammar schools I'd like to summarize the most important ideas from particular chapters. I think that the objects I have determined at the beginnig, have been filled and my work will help to perceive analytic chemistry as an integral part of chemistry education in secondary grammar schools. I have emphasized importace of chemical experiment and its use in analytical chemistry education. I have pointed a possibility of working relation among school subjects and a possibility of putting several cross-sectional topics into analytic chemistry education. Other object was to check students' knowledge. I have also intent on particular experiments and I have dividend them into several groups and I have prepared them to be put just into lessons by teachers and some notices and solutions are added. I have described the work during the experimental lessons, the equipment for them, specific matter of analytical chemistry. When we understand the function and...
Utilization of Project Method in Teaching of Natural Science at Secondary School
LESKOVCOVÁ, Martina
The bachelor thesis deals with project methods in science subjects at secondary schools. In the theoretical part are explained the main concepts, the description of the project method, the types and phases of project method and it finally describes the Framework educational programmes for secondary schools. Great attention is paied to the implementation of the project method in science subjects. The practical part includes the expert research orientated to detecting teachers' experience and their use of design methods and views on the proposed project example.
